Chairman and Certifications Chair – Kanthassamy (Kandy) Senthilmaran:

Kandy is a Senior Member with ASQ and is currently working as Director – Process Center of Excellence with CSC Covansys Corp. He is a ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, CSQA, CIISA and ITIL foundations certified with ten plus years of experience in developing, sustaining and improving organizational process performance using many quality standards, models, methodologies, frameworks such as ISO, CMM, PCMM, CMMi,COBIT,ITIL,BS7799 among others. Kandy also doubles up as the Region 7 Councilor for Software Division and planning committee of Six Sigma discussion group. He is also part of the regional judge panel for ASQ Team Excellence Award Process, 2007 and 2008 and Standing Review Board (SRB) of ASQ’s Quality Press. He is also active with Quality Assurance Institute, Project Management Institute and Software Process Improvement Networks (SPIN).
Kandy has earlier been Program Chair and Chief Proctor for the section for the past two years.
Kandy is happily married and lives with his wife at Montclair. His favorite time passes are internet browsing, gardening and getting in touch with friends.

Secretary - Jean Flores:

Jean is currently Section 702 Secretary and SMP Committee Chair, having previously served as Programs Committee Chair, Section Chair, and Treasurer. She is a ASQ Certified CQE and CQA.
She is currently employed as Quality Systems Manager for Ball Corp, Plastic Container Division, in Chino, CA. since January 08. Previous to that, she was Director of Quality for Garcia Plastic Molding (previously named Andercraft Products), a custom injection molding company, in Rancho Cucamonga for 14 years, and was a Quality Engineer with Baxter Healthcare for 10 years in various positions of increasing responsibility.
On a personal note, She lives in Glendora and have a 26 year old son, 3 dogs, and 5 desert tortoises.

Treasurer - Nal Lokeshwar

Nal Lokeshwar is the treasurer for the ASQ section 702 for the year 2008-2009. He is a senior member of ASQ and is a member of the section since 1996. He is an ASQ certified quality manager, reliability engineer, quality engineer and quality auditor. He holds a MSQA degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills. Currently he works as a senior manufacturing engineer at Everett Charles Technologies in the assembly of miniature probes for semiconductor and electronic testing industries.

C.G.Mistry is an ASQ member for 16 years. He has been a board member for last four years and is the immediate past chair.

Newsletters Chair - Larry Phelan

Larry Phelan is a senior member of the ASQ and a member of the Biomedical Division and the Quality Management Division. He has over thirty years experience in the medical device industry and prior to that he worked in the geophysical instrumentation and military instrumentation industries. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and a MBA from the University of Pepperdine. He obtained a certification in Total Quality Management from U.C.L.A. and Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Mechanical Inspector from the American Society for Quality. He is employed by Beckman Coulter, Inc. in quality systems and training. He is the section’s newsletter chair.

Nominations, Education and Arrangements Chair - Dwane Nesser

Dwane is a senior member of ASQ and has been a member since 1988. He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer. Dwane graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. He has worked in the manufacturing industry with makers of Food, Drug and Cosmetics throughout his career and is currently employed as a Compliance Manager for Universal Packaging Systems, Inc.

Co-Membership Chair – Bennett Chin

Bennett Chin is the co-membership chair for ASQ 702. He is a member of ASQ since 2001 and currently a senior member. He has held various executive board positions, Membership Chair, Secretary, Vice-Chair, and Photographer, with ASQ 702 since 2002. He is also a member of the Society of Plastic Engineer since 1995.
Bennett is the Technical & Quality Assurance Manager at Techmer PM that designs and produces additives and color concentrates for the plastics industry. He has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering and minor in Material Science and Engineering.

Co-Membership Chair – Ravi Rathinam

Ravi is a new entry to the section’s executive board as Co-Membership Chair. He has around 14 years of experience is various aspects of Quality and is currently working as Manager Quality for CSC Covansys Corp.
Ravi is happily married with two kids and lives in Pasadena. He loves making south Indian delicacies and savoring it with his family.
Ravi is also a budding entrepreneur with a new but good start with his Green House products LLC marketing nature care products.

Recertification and Job Placement Chair – Lori Benson

Lori has over 30 years experience in the biomedical field. She has set up certified and credible quality systems in Medical device and diverse supporting companies. Coordinated and managed training programs. Trained and supervised up to 30 subordinates. Developed laboratory testing protocols, created sterilization validation programs, established and maintained clinical monitoring program, and brought an award winning product line to market from conception.

Bio Medical Division Liaison - Marina Guevrekian

Marina Guevrekian is a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Staar surgical Company, an Ophthalmic Device company in Monrovia, California.
She has been a Senior Scientist at Merck-Sharp & Dohm & Ipsen Biotech Pharmaceutical company’s in Paris, France before moving to the USA in 2000. She has been working as a Senior Scientist and Regulatory advisor/specialist in Environmental, Health Care & Medical Device company’s since.
She holds a Ph. D. applied to the Environmental and Pharmaceutical industries and is an ASQ/CQA.
She is a member of ASQ since 2005, Board member of section 702 and Event coordinator for SCDG Biomedical division.

Food, Drug and Cosmetics Division Liaison and Education Chair - Isabelle Gartner

  Isabelle works as a chemical engineer specializing in quality and process engineering. On the quality side she has worked in both quality control and assurance (cause determination and corrective action/preventative action). In process engineering she has been in charge of validations and process improvements, including the research (small scale experiments and pilot scale testing), design of protocol, testing, final report submissions, and implementation. Her experience includes transfers of both product and equipment amongst multiple partners and manufacturing sites. She has worked in ISO, OSHA, and FDA regulated sites. Isabelle has participated in research projects in polymers and alkaloid biosynthesis, for which she has been published. She has been a member of ASQ since 2007.

Regional Director - Holly Duckworth

Holly is a certified Master Black Belt, with over 20 years experience in aerospace and automotive manufacturing.  Holly mentors and instructs Black Belts and Green Belts in the Six Sigma tools, training techniques, and influence strategies, with over 2,000 hours as a classroom instructor.  She is a Regional Director for the American Society for Quality.  She has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Management.  Holly is currently pursuing a Phd. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Deputy Regional Director - Rosemarie Chistopher

Rosemarie Christopher, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Med Exec International and RxResearch Staffing, has spent more than 20 years in the recruitment and placement of technical professionals for full time and contract staff positions.

Ms. Christopher is author of “What Employers Hire”, a series of articles and interactive seminars that reveal the strategies and techniques for successful career development and advancement.

Ms. Christopher also serves as member of the Board of Directors of Orange County Regulatory Affairs Discussion Group (OCRA), a leading regional association serving the pharmaceutical, life science and biotechnology industries, and the American Society for Quality (ASQ). She is a Board Member for the USC School of Pharmacy and an active member of Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS), Drug Information Association (DIA) and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).

A native of Easton, Pennsylvania, Ms. Christopher is a Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society member with a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School for Communications, and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Ms. Christopher resides in Los Angeles, California with husband Dr. Thom Mason, Chair of the Jazz Department in the USC Thornton School of Music.
