Our speakers
this month are Vinay
Goyal and Larry
Yen
Presentation #1 –
With the increasing globalization of electronics manufacturing
and obsolescence due to faster innovation of
electronics products has raised their impact on the environment.
Most of the electrical and electronic devices
are subject to RoHS and WEEE directives. These two directives
originated from the European Union but in a
very short time are becoming International directives.
This presentation will cover EU country specific
requirements; understand how your products are likely
to be impacted and nuts and bolts of complying with the
RoHS and WEEE directive. Based on personal experience
with the directive, common pitfalls and best practices
will be offered. (See speaker bio on
page 2)
Presentation #2 –
Material declaration has become one of the mandatory steps
in order to be in compliance with various RoHS
requirements such as EU RoHS, California RoHS, China RoHS,
Korea RoHS and Japan RoHS. Pacific Oaks
Technology has been providing the RoHS management solution
to many electrical and electronic manufacturers
ranging from top-tier OEMs, CMs or EMSes to smaller enterprises.
They offer not just the software management
tools, but also the data cleansing services, including
BOM scrubbing (for matching against the public-available
RoHS) and material declaration info. Mr. Yen will share
the experience learned from his customers in terms of
data collection on RoHS info for due diligence, compliance
validation with various RoHS regulations and
exemptions, and reporting on material declaration. (See
