Topic: Lean
/ Six Sigma applications in the Medical Device manufacturing
industry
ABOUT THE
TOPIC:
A presentation
will be given on Lean Tools commonly used by recognized
leaders in business processes. Details of tool implementation
along with examples will be reviewed. The application
of Kaizen, Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke), Value Stream
Mapping, and 5S’s will be addressed. Breakout discussion
groups will follow the presentation with the goal of good,
open exchange of ideas on utilization of these concepts
in the device/pharmaceutical industries.
ABOUT THE
SPEAKER:
Larry Bartkus
is currently Master Black Belt, Business Excellence for
Biosense Webster, a Johnson & Johnson company. He
is a Certified Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Master Black
Belt with over thirty five years experience in the Quality
profession. He holds a degree in Chemistry from Montclair
State University in New Jersey. Larry has been guest speaker
at The Society of Plastics Engineers, Society of Manufacturing
Engineers, APICS, and ASQ. He is a past Chairman of ASQ
Section 702 and has served on the Executive Board for
over twenty years now. He was an instructor for several
CQE Refresher Courses and has conducted seminars in Process
Control, Statistical Sampling, and Design of Experiments.
